Short of ideas?
Have you ever found yourself stuck, struggling to come up with new ideas? It’s common to feel like your mind has reached its capacity, but have you ever wondered what that capacity really is, and how the brain generates new ideas and retains information?
At the core of our cognitive abilities are neurons, which form complex networks and pathways in the brain. But just how many ideas can we generate and store?
Answering this question requires some basic knowledge of mathematics, specifically Permutation and Combination. To give you an idea of the scale we’re talking about, I once calculated the permutation value of just 16 items and arrived at the staggering number of 20922789888000. Now imagine calculating the permutation value for the 86 billion neurons in our brains!
It’s hard to fathom just how vast our brain’s capacity really is. Even with the help of quantum computing and its ability to calculate incredibly large numbers and solve complex optimisation problems, it’s difficult to imagine anything surpassing the potential of our own minds.
So the next time you’re feeling short of ideas, remember that your brain has the capacity to generate and store more than you can possibly imagine. Trust in its power and let your creativity run wild.
